The Whitefeather Forest Management Corporation of Pikangikum First Nation, the Natural Resources Institute of the University of Manitoba and Ontario Parks are working together to build cross cultural understanding of the Pikangikum Cultural Landscape in the Whitefeather Forest and Woodland Caribou Provincial Park.

At 10:30am, September 22, 2009 this exhibit of art and research will be opening at the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre showcasing one aspect of how the partners have been working to build cross cultural understanding of the Pikangikum cultural landscape.

The exhibit will feature a series of paintings created by the gifted young artist from Pikangikum. The paintings are accompanied by a selection of Elders' teachings, in both Ojibway syllabics and English translations, that guided the artist as he considered how to represent his Elders' knowledge through painting.

Everyone is invited to attend the Opening Celebration of this exhibit
at 10:30 am September 22nd
at the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre.
